Intraoperative Nerve Monitoring (IONM) helps to reduce the risk of damage to nerves and provides guidance to the surgeon. IONM has evolved over the last decades where it is becoming the standard of care during cases in ENT, Spine, Neuro and Vascular surgeries.
Support for neurophysiologic control in the operating theatre is growing. The risk of postoperative neurological deficit, such as weakness, loss of sensation, hearing loss, and impairment of other bodily functions is reduced thanks to the use of IONM during surgery.
